Systems for furnace weighing

Our competence center offers highly accurate weighing solutions of production furnaces in metallurgical and foundry works, identification and logistics of transport crucibles, as well as the dosing and filling of powders and solids over turnkey metering systems and much more.

Our furnace weighing solutions in all versions offer the user:

The Network Day of the Chemistry Cluster took place on September the 20th  in Nurnberg. This innovation award is awarded every year. The fiwa)group presented the furnace weighing solution of the "Pre-Weight"-series and managed to reach the finals under the best 5 innovations.

FURNACE WEIGHING SOLUTION TYPE 1 – Weighbridge System

Weighing kits for total loads of 10t to 800t

Continous weighing of melting holding furnaces, in gound and tilt position

■ Individual adjustment of weighing kits to the furnace design, therefore the possibility of integrating all furnaces types (existing or new), that are built on a frame substructure (steel frame = bridge).

Permanent reproducibility in relation with the measurement results  0,02 – 0,5% of the product amount

■ Integrated correction system for tilting errors: no distortions of weight values by compensating influences or increase or decrease of the hydraulic oil mass

■ Constant measurement values at fluctuating operating and ambient temperature up to a maximum of  250°C (operations near the furnaces also for extruder reactors heating plants)

■ Ensuring the functionality, even at occuring high levels of dirt and dust, even when liquid metal is leaking

FURNACE WEIGHING SOLUTION TYPE 2 – Weighing while filling / in its basic position

Weighing kits for total loads of 10t to 800t

Continous weighing of melting holding furnaces in its basic position

■ Individual adjustment of weighing kits to the furnace design, therefore the possibility of integrating almost all furnaces types. Ideal solution for existing furnaces with raised accuracy requirements relating the measured value 

Permanent reproducibility in relation with the measurement results  under  0,5% of the product amount

■ Constant measurement values at fluctuating operating and ambient temperature up to a maximum of  250°C

■ Ensuring the functionality, even at occuring high levels of dirt and dust, even when liquid metal is leaking

FURNACE WEIGHING SOLUTION TYPE 3 – Weighing in all operating positions

Weighing kits for total loads of 10t to 800t

Continous weighing of melting holding furnaces, in gound and tilt position

A patented further development or alternative to the TYP 1 and 2 solutions

■ Individual adjustment of weighing kits to the furnace design, therefore the possibility of integrating almost all furnaces types. Ideal solution for new furnaces with raised accuracy requirements relating the measured value  in all operating positions of the furnace.   

Permanent reproducibility in relation with the measurement results from 0,03 - 0,1% of the product amount

■ Integrated correction system for tilting errors: no distortions of weight values by compensating influences or increase or decrease of the hydraulic oil mass

■ Highly mechanical stability of the load cells kits

■ Constant measurement values at fluctuating operating and ambient temperature up to a maximum of  250°C

■ Ensuring the functionality, even at occuring high levels of dirt and dust, even when liquid metal is leaking

Weighing kits for the conversion of existing furnaces, for total loads of 10t to 1.600t

Continous weighing of melting holding furnaces, in gound position

For guaranteeing stable and accurate weight measurements, the following system units have been integrated in conjunction with the load measuring pin (LMB):

Specially specified slide bearing systems between the bearing housing and the LMB result in:

■ improved force transmission

■ No LMB abrasion, thus easy replacement / exchange

■ Easy maintenance, as no regular lubrication of the tilt sensor + tilt angle/tilt error – correction software is needed

■ Repeal  of possible force shunts or fluctuating oil masses

■ Approval / confirmation of the correct weight values (absolute initial position of the furnace)
